Two of my favorite subjects to photograph are babies and dogs. They can both be difficult and requires more patience, but they are so cute and I love the challenge! I was thrilled when I was asked to capture Olivia, a 5-month old baby, and her family – including her best friend, Madison, a Pomeranian. Her mom actually was the very first person who contacted me through my blogsite on the day that I launched it! I still remember how happy I was to see her comment just only a few hours after I posted my very first blogpost!! As you can imagine, this family became very special to me even before I met them! =) Originally, we were planning on having a session at my studio, however, as we talked a little more and I got to know her better, I learned that the family wanted a more casual look, rather than posed images, so we decided to have the session at their home instead. It turned out to be a great idea, other than the fact that I got into a car accident few days before and needed a ride from my husband to their house, LOL!
As we walked into their beautiful home, the family welcomed us with some delicious apple turnovers, fruits, and drinks! We sat down and enjoyed our tasty treats =) This gave us a chance to chat a little in person. I love to get to know my clients before I grab my camera, because I feel that the more I am connected with them, the better shots I get! I really appreciate them for letting us relax and engage in some conversation prior to the session. Olivia was a very happy baby. She was giggling and smiling a lot! I just love her beautiful eyes!! Most of the time, Madison was at her spot, which was at the top of the couch, not on her bed. She looked like as she was overlooking the family to make sure everything was fine. In fact, her mom told me that she can tell the difference between Olivia’s regular day-to-day noises and her more urgent cries. Whenever Madison hears Olivia cry for real, she will perk up and run to where she is. If Olivia is crying in her bedroom and if her parents don’t seem to hear her cry, she will make sure to let them know by running out of the bedroom to where they are and the parents can tell by Madison’s look! How sweet! And what a great canine baby-sitter!
Thank you Olivia and her family for welcoming us to your home to capture these images. We had a great time getting to know you!!
