It’s that time of year again! A visit from Santa is just around the corner for all the children who have been good! It’s also a super busy time of year for Moms and Dads, and what better way to celebrate the holiday season than to have a beautiful family portrait taken? As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I was taking time off to spend time with my little one, Nathan (it’s so great being a Mom, but also so busy!). But with Christmas coming up and some of my wonderful clients expressing interest in my annual Christmas sessions, I’ve decided to offer Christmas Tree Farm mini sessions this year.
The sessions sold out so quickly I just couldn’t believe it! It was such a great experience for both me and for all of the families involved. The Christmas tree farm is a really fantastic location for family portrait sessions, but I also secretly snuck in a special guest to surprise the kids.
Our Surprise Guest!
Santa Claus made a surprise appearance and all of the kids were so excited to see him! They took great delight in telling him all about what they wanted for Christmas. It was so much fun for me to see that and great for all of the kids and families as well. Santa read them a story and the kids also got the chance to give him their letters. The kids’ faces all just lit up! It was especially cool when Santa was peeking out from behind the Christmas trees during the Christmas family photo session too. It made for really great photos and memories!
One of the things I really love about family portrait photography is that I get to develop a real rapport with the kids and their families. It’s such a great time of the year because all of the kids have this sense of excitement and for me to capture it as a photographer is just wonderful.
As a Mom myself, one of the things I have learned is that it’s always wise to take into consideration how children might feel in certain situations. During my sessions at the Christmas tree farm, I made sure that I took photos of all of the families and their little ones without Santa first, just in case Santa scared them! Some kids can freak out a bit when they see that big white beard, so I always make sure I think about the best way to make the day as special and as easy as possible for all of the families.
I’m very thankful to all of the families who came along to our Christmas tree farm holiday portrait sessions. It was a long way for some of them to come because we’ve recently moved our business, so I’m just really grateful that my loyal clients decided to get in touch and make the journey out to the farm!
Take the Pressure off Yourself
I completely understand that it’s a super busy time of the year for lots of families. There’s gift giving, decorations to put up, family get-togethers to organize, and so on. Seeing as there’s so much going on, wouldn’t it be good to worry about one less thing? By booking for our next Christmas tree farm photo session with Santa, we can have a whole lot of fun and make some great memories. I’d be honored to capture your family as a photographer so that you can treasure the memories for many years to come.
