Cathy Murai Photography specializes in capturing the beauty and significance of Shichi-Go-San, the traditional Japanese celebration of children's growth and well-being at ages three, five, and seven. Let's create lasting memories with a Shichi-Go-San photo session and preserve these cherished traditions for generations to come.
Children typically celebrate Shichi-Go-San at the ages of three, five, and seven. (when girls turn 3 and 7, and boys turn 3 and 5.)
It is recommended to book your child(ren)’s Shichi-Go-San photoshoot IN ADVANCE to secure your preferred date and time. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER as I do not offer the services in those two months due to the busy Holiday/Santa sessions.
Contact me as early as possible to discuss your desired date, as popular dates tend to fill up quickly. Booking in advance also allows me to make the necessary preparations and arrangements for the photo shoot, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for your family.
So, don’t hesitate to reach out and secure your booking to create beautiful and lasting memories of your child(ren)’s Shichi-Go-San celebration.
A Shichi-Go-San photo session typically lasts around 1-2 hours, depending on the cooperation and energy of the children involved. This includes the time for dressing, styling, and photographing. We understand the importance of allowing enough time for children to feel comfortable and relaxed, ensuring an enjoyable (stress-free) experience for both the children and their families.
I collaborate with a local kimono rental and dressing service that offers high-quality kimonos and hakamas. All the garments are carefully selected and imported directly from Japan, ensuring their authenticity and beauty. Please contact me for details.
Absolutely! Parents and siblings are more than welcome to be included in the Shichi-Go-San photos. We understand that family plays a significant role in these milestone celebrations, and capturing these precious moments together is a wonderful way to commemorate the occasion. Family members’ kimono / hakama are also available for rent.
