I get to celebrate and photograph sweet Kaia’s 1st birthday party today! This is her when she was a newborn. Notice that she already had a tooth?!?!? Did you know that this only occurs in about one in every 2,000 to 3,000 births? She’s special! I wonder how many teeth she has now… I can’t wait to see her and celebrate her BIG day!!
I was so pleased to meet and photograph this gorgeous couple expecting their first baby girl. As you can see in the images that I captured, an excitement shines through on their faces as they think about their newest addition to their family. Throughout the session, the beautiful mom was just radiant with joy. She was 34 weeks along and her belly was nice and round. Her husband told me that he was a 9lbs+ baby so I wonder how big their baby is going to be! They brought a cute prop that shows the baby’s name, Camila (what a beautiful name!) and it was from her babyshower. I love it when my clients bring something special and fun to incorporate in the pictures. They also wanted to have before and after pregnancy portraits, which I will share after I photograph their newborn portraits. Stay tune!
I had a great time capturing the beautiful bond that they both share as they are waiting for their little one to arrive. I can’t wait to meet their new family member, Camila! Here are some of my favorite portraits that show that special glow of happiness!
Are you pregnant? Expecting a new baby is an exciting moment in every woman’s life. The feeling of a new life growing inside them makes every new mother glow and shine. I hear from many of my newborn clients that they regret not having done a maternity session to document such a short sweet moment. Contact us to book your pregnancy session before it’s too late!
Isn’t this the coolest looking baby that you’ve ever seen?! He’s already sporting a mohawk hairstyle! Baby Steven came to my studio when he was exactly 100 days old. To celebrate this important cultural milestone, his parents decided to have a portrait session to preserve their sweet memories. Babies are so adorable to shoot around 3 months old, because they start to react and respond to you – and I get to enjoy the chubby goodness! As you can see, Steven knew how to pose and look at the camera whenever I called his name! I’m so happy that we were able to capture his first 100 days. Happy 100 days, Steven!

Many of us welcome a pet into the family before a child and I love it when my clients invite their dogs to participate in their pregnancy announcement, maternity, and newborn sessions, because I think it shows just how much their pets mean to them and that they are an important member of the family.
I recently had a fun time capturing this expectant parents’ first pregnancy announcement, starring Lulu, their family dog. Lulu is a 4-year old Rhodesian Ridgeback and Pitbull mix, who was adopted by her loving parents when she was a puppy. When they arrived, Lulu was so shy and nervous that her tail was down between her legs for a while. When her parents told me that she will not take any treats from strangers, I started to worry a bit. This means that I can’t bribe using treats… What if she doesn’t stay or pose and look at the camera? I ended up spending more time getting to know and comforting Lulu than photographing her during this photo session. =) But look at Lulu! Strike a pose! Doesn’t she look adorable?! Towards the end of the session, Lulu loosened up and took some treats from my hand! She was happy to enjoy treats after I snapped the perfect shot! I felt like we connected and that really made me smile!
The mom was at 16 weeks when I photographed her and wow, they had already picked a name for their baby! The baby is due 5 days before Lulu’s birthday in July! How exciting! They are going to have a big celebrations together for years to come!
I am so honored that I was able to help this family share the happy news! I am so excited for them and I can’t wait to capture more precious moments at the maternity and newborn sessions!
Here is the announcement card that I put together for them. I’ll bet you can’t resist smiling at these!
I had such a great time meeting and photographing this wonderful growing family during both maternity and newborn portrait sessions! I love getting to know my clients as much as possible before they entrust me to hold and photograph their precious babies and having a maternity session is a great way to do this! This sweet couple came to me for their pregnancy portraits about a month before they welcomed their baby #2. They told me that they didn’t have their maternity/newborn portraits taken by professional photographer for their older son. As soon as I heard this, I was so happy that they decided to professionally document their sweet moments this time – it could be their last chance, right? Who knows… I hope that one day, the mom will look back at these images and remember this amazing brief time in her life! I also knew that I MUST capture their siblings photos and make sure to involve the older brother during the newborn session.
Baby Arden arrived and I got to meet him when he was only 10 days new. We started off with the siblings shots and his 4 years old big brother, Adrien, cooperated with everything I asked him to do and he was such a proud big brother! I think that this is why this image of them together is my favorite and it also was for his parents! I am so glad that they decided to get a canvas of this image to decorate their home.
We then focused on Baby Arden for the remainder of the photo session. Look how handsome this little man is! He slept and posed very well throughout the session and was an absolute dream to work with! Before the photo session, I always ask my clients what they are planning to do with their portraits. If the thought is wall portrait, I would highly recommend my clients to coordinate the props used in the photo session with the color of the rooms where they are thinking the portrait will be displayed. Also, if they are planning to display multiple images, I always recommend to make sure that the colors are coordinated and will go well together.
Are you expecting? Book your newborn session during your pregnancy rather than waiting until your baby is born! We only accept a limited number of newborn sessions per week! Newborn photography is best done within the first 14 days.
