I welcome ALL family members, including the family dogs, to the newborn sessions. I am a huge dog lover and I always ask my clients if any pets will join us when they book with me. I was happy when Mr. Hank, the bulldog, came to my studio with his little sister, Fallon, when she was a little over 2 weeks old. They were my first client after I returned back from maternity leave and I couldn’t be happier to meet them! While holding Fallon, I kept thinking how much my daughter, who was 3 months old at that time, has grown in just a few months and I wanted Fallon’s parents to remember how tiny she was. You may think you will always remember the little details of your tiny newborn, but unfortunately those memories fade and having newborn portraits to look back on is a wonderful keepsake. From my own experience, it’s value is immeasurable! I had a wonderful time documenting the little one’s newness that I didn’t want to put my camera down. Isn’t she adorable?? After I captured Fallon’s individual images, I invited Mr. Hank to join us. He was super sweet and friendly, but whenever I tried to capture him with Fallon in the wooden prop, he would get up and come towards me as if he wanted me to pet him, so capturing them together was such a challenge! If I don’t feel safe capturing newborns and pets together, especially when the pets won’t stay still, I will stop. Instead, I will capture them separately and combine the two images. =) Yes, the third image below was created that way! With newborns, their safety always comes first. While Fallon’s mom was feeding her, I was able to capture some additional images of Mr. Hank with his daddy! It was fun watching them interacting together.
Thanks to Fallon’s parents for trusting me to photograph their precious newborn baby girl and their fur baby! I had a wonderful time getting to know all of you!
Fabulous, just fabulous! :)
